Leanne’s Experience with OrthoBiologics

Thank you to Leanne Goins for sharing your experience with one of CSMO’s non-surgical treatment options – OrthoBiologics! We love when patients the take time to share a positive outcome.

“I wanted to write and let you know about my experience with the PRP procedure. I was having to get cortisone shots every three months in my shoulders. The shots wore off in about 7-8 weeks, so the last four weeks were simply excruciating pain. Dr. Smalley and Lacey recommended the PRP procedure.

I was skeptical at first but researched it and asked lots of questions of both Dr. Smalley and Lacey. They explained the procedure and I decided to go forward. It has been almost 7 months since I had the procedure, and I am amazed. I can lift my arms above my head and not be in severe pain. I can blow dry my hair for the first time in several years without being in pain!

I brought ice packs with me the day of the procedure and put them on my shoulders as soon as I got in the car. Then I left them on for the first two days as much as possible. After two days, I felt much better. I still have pain, but nowhere near the pain i had. Before my PRP procedure, my pain was at a 7-10 daily. My pain level now is 3-5 – a huge difference. I’m really glad I had the procedure, and I’m curious to see how long I can go before having to have another procedure.

I am so pleased with the outcome that I have scheduled to have the procedure in my knees, and I’m hoping for the same outcome – I will keep you posted! Based off my results, I would highly recommend PRP.

On another note, I am not sure there is a finer group of physicians and practitioners anywhere – the team at Center for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics are truly phenomenal. Thanks for all the team does to help me to feel better with the pain I endure.”
