Tiffany McKenzie, busy supervisor at TVA, girls high school assistant basketball coach at Chattanooga Christian (CCS), and mom of two daughters, wasn’t thrilled when she badly injured her knee playing basketball with friends.
Dr. Brett Sanders performed an arthroscopic lateral meniscectomy and microfracture chondroplasty on her right knee. This is a fancy way of saying her knee needed a lot of work! Initially, her recovery was complicated by significant pain, worry, and some post-operative complications that kept her off her feet for several weeks and slowed her recovery.
Through it all, Tiffany maintained her strong motivation to return to normal activity – which for her meant running and playing basketball. She’s now approaching full range of motion, walking with more normal mechanics, and steadily regaining functional strength – thanks in part to her physical therapy team which included Jana Buff and Brandy Parker.
They also have plans to transition her to our C4 Sports Therapy team, where she can continue her journey as a life-long athlete.
“Shoutout to my amazing physical therapy team—Jana, Brandy, and Major! They make every session worth it (even when it hurts!). From day one, they asked me what I wanted out of this journey and have been pushing me toward my goals ever since. They’re so personable, they always know my mood, and somehow make PT something I actually look forward to. Couldn’t be happier with the care and motivation they give!”
